Uzbekistan supplied Kyrgyzstan with electricity from Turkmen gas

Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reached an agreement on the supply of electricity from Turkmen gas to prevent a critical decline in the water level in the Toktogul reservoir, which supplies water to the Syr Darya River. The Ministries of Energy of both countries announced cooperation, which involves mutual supplies of electricity in accordance with approved schedules and contracts. Under the agreement, Uzbekistan supplies electricity to Kyrgyzstan during the winter and receives return supplies in the summer to maintain the flow of water into both countries' rivers. This agreement helps countries manage energy demand at different times of the year and reduces energy risks in the region.
