In Uzbekistan, gas production decreased in the first eight months of 2024.

Gas production in Uzbekistan exceeded 29.9 billion cubic meters in the first eight months of 2024. Over the year, the figure has decreased by 4.6%, the Statistics Agency reports.

Amid the decline in gas production, our country has increased its purchases of imported fuel. As of September 1, supplies have increased almost sixfold, to $ 1.1 billion. Our country intends to increase purchases of Russian gas almost fourfold. The annual import volume was estimated at 11.7 billion cubic meters. In addition, oil production in the country fell from 520.3 thousand tons to 485.1 thousand tons over the year. At the same time, coal production in our country increased from 3.7 million tons.
